More than 30 years ago, Randy Schaefer began building his construction experience – literally from the ground up. He started as a laborer with Metropolitan Development Co. of California, over time working his way up through the company.

In 1981, he moved to Southern Nevada and set up shop as a custom home builder. He soon branched out into single-family community development, with the philosophy that production homes should be built with the same attention to detail and craftsmanship given to custom homes.

Since then, Randy Schaefer and the R/S Development family have become known as the “Custom Touch” builder. The company has built more than 34 custom homes and 13 neighborhoods with over 2,500 homes valley-wide. Many of those residences are considered the finest in the area. R/S has also lent its expertise and philosophy to the commercial development arena, with offices, retail and warehouse complexes.

Mr. Schaefer is a current member and past Chairman of the Nevada State Contractors Board, as well as a two-time President of the Southern Nevada Homebuilders Association – all testament to his reputation as one of the best developers in Southern Nevada.
